Reunion Tower is a beloved Dallas landmark, recognized by its unique observation deck that resembles a glowing disco ball. It offers a 360-degree view of the entire Dallas skyline, and it’s especially popular around sunset when the area fills with visitors!
A Unique View from the Geo-Deck
The observation deck, known as the Geo-Deck, features a distinctive geodesic design made up of triangular panels. From this deck, you can enjoy sweeping views of downtown Dallas. Depending on where you stand, the geometric lines add a unique visual touch, highlighting the tower’s architectural character.

There is also an outdoor area where you can feel the breeze and enjoy the view. To the left, you can spot the Margaret McDermott Bridge. To the right, the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge stretches across the Trinity River. These two iconic structures help define the Dallas skyline from this vantage point.

Sunsets and Skyline
Reunion Tower stands at approximately 171 meters. It may not be as tall as the Bank of America Plaza or the Renaissance Tower, but that modest height creates a different experience. The view feels closer, more connected to the city itself.
Just in the right spot, a row of counter tables and chairs lets you watch the sunset at a relaxed pace. Tickets are reserved by time slots, so it is a good idea to book a little before sunset. Since the view changes with the season and weather, checking the forecast ahead of time is recommended.
Evening Views and Tower Lights

As the sun sets and the sky darkens, the city begins to sparkle. The tower itself lights up, too. That evening, it glowed in a soft gradient of rainbow colors. The lighting display changes with the seasons and on special occasions, making each visit feel a little different.
There is also a rotating restaurant on the observation deck where visitors can enjoy a meal while the city slowly moves past their view. I didn’t dine there myself, but the idea of watching the lights come on while sharing a meal sounds memorable.
Reunion Tower offers a memorable view of Dallas, from the golden hour to the sparkle of city lights. It is a place both locals and travelers continue to return to. If you have the chance, it is well worth a visit.
